The Philippines is recognized as 2023 Asia’s Best Cruise Destination at the prestigious World Cruise Awards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. 

The World Cruise Awards, held annually, honors successful campaigns in the cruise industry. The renowned world travel awards is a testament to the country’s diverse destinations and unique attractions and boosts the status of the Philippines as a tourism powerhouse. 

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco acknowledges the award as a “big win for Philippine tourism as it reflects a resounding global preference for the country’s island destinations.”

Frasco added that the tourism sector is committed to maintaining and enhancing the country’s standing as an outstanding cruise destination in Asia and the world. She shares the best cruise destination 2023 award to all our tourism stakeholders in the country.

India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam are other countries vying for the award.

The country is anticipating that cruise lines will make 128 ports of call across 33 destinations, carrying approximately 50,000 cruise ship personnel and 101,000 tourists.

Among the cruise ships expected to arrive are Aidabella, Blue Dream Cruise, Coral Adventure, MSC Poesia, MS Seven Seas Explorer, MS Star Breeze, Norwegian Jewel, Oceania Cruises, Queen Elizabeth, The Seaborne Encore, Silver Shadow, and the Silver Whisper.  

With 7,641 islands to choose from, the Philippines boasts a plethora of destinations that offer a diverse range of global cruise experiences. Tourists can explore the country’s natural wonders and scenic coastlines and immerse themselves in its rich culture and preserved traditions.
