The first speaker, Senior Fire Officer 2 Marko Florentino Mission, emphasized the importance of understanding the core elements of fire: heat, oxygen, and fuel. Smoke alarm, fire extinguisher, and a fire escape plan at home may be vital, but recognizing these elements, can help employees and homeowners better handle combustible materials and prevent home fires from occurring with or without smoke detectors or smoke alarms. The speaker also discussed the most common sources of fires, including cigarettes and matches, cooking equipment, flammable chemicals, kitchen grease, lightning, unattended burning candles or lamps, debris from burning forests, and arson.

Senior Fire Officer 01 Aesop Amigo then discussed the steps to take in case of a fire, including a home fire escape plan. He stressed the importance of sounding the alarm and alerting the fire brigade or fire department, putting out the fire using water or a fire extinguisher, and evacuating oneself, family members, and others safely to the designated meeting place until firefighters arrive.

The seminar also provided Camella employees with hands-on training on properly using fire extinguishers through the T.P.A.S.S. method, which stands for Twist the pin, Pull the safety pin, Aim at the base, Squeeze the handle, and Sweep side to side.
