Camella, a reputable real estate developer committed to providing quality homes to Filipino families, participated in the recently concluded 106th Annual Communication (AnCom) of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines.
AnCom is a yearly grand assembly of the Freemasons from various lodges in the country. This event serves as a platform for the members to discuss the state of the organization, its achievements, and present significant challenges. Official business aside, it also provides opportunities for fraternal bonding and socialization among the members.
Hosted by Dumaguete City and Masonic District R-XVIII NIR, the 2023 Annual Communication event was held last April 25-28, 2023 at the Uypitching Multi-Purpose Hall in Valencia, Negros Oriental,With the participation of over 5,000 delegates from all over the Philippines and other countries, this year’s event is considered one of the biggest in the history of AnCom.
106th Annual Communication
The event commenced with the intense and exciting MW Johnny Pimentel Grand Master’s Cup: 1st GLP Mini Olympics, where different lodges showcased their skills and competitive spirits in numerous sports. On the second day, the Masons paid a courtesy call to Negros Oriental Governor Carlo Jorge Joan Reyes, Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, and other local government officials. It was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument in Dumaguete Quezon Park in honor of one of the most prominent Freemasons in the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rizal.
An early morning Mason-exclusive Fun Run from Rizal Boulevard to Airport Road was held on the third day, followed by the formal sessions at Uypitching Multi-Purpose Hall, where the Grand Master presented his annual report, including plans and projects for the upcoming year.
Capping the day was the Grand Master’s Night, organized by the local government and city tourism office at Pantawan 2 and 3 of Rizal Boulevard, where masons and their families enjoyed a delightful feast and a fireworks display as the finale.
Concluding this series of meaningful events, the organization regulated another formal session and the election of new officers on April 28. The latter resulted in the selection of Dumaguete City’s MW Don T. Ramas-Uypitching as the new Grand Master.
The Annual Communication is a crucial event for the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines. It strengthens the organization’s unity and promotes its values of brotherhood, charity, and truth. Through this grand event, Dumaguete City has given a mark to smaller cities’ ability to handle nationwide events and firmly made known to every Filipino inside and outside the country the impeccable hospitality of Dumagueteños.
