This article is meant to convince you that working as a real estate agent is not “good”---it’s actually a comparative degree higher---better.
Yes, the right word is not just good, but BETTER.
1.You are your own boss.
Most agents don’t attend to bosses that dictate what they should do for the day. They can work anytime they want, anywhere they want. Unlike most 8-5 corporate jobs with definite salaries, agents aren’t required to confine themselves in the office and work their butts off from morning till dusk. They manage their own time. Simply put, they can work, stop for some drink at a bar or chitchat with a friend, then go back to work again. If this kind of work schedule is not enviable, I don’t know what is.
2. Easy entrance to the industry.
Working in real estate requires knowledge, of course. But, here’s some logic. A licensed nurse can’t work as an engineer. Vice versa, a board passer engineer can’t work as a nurse. But, both can work as real estate agents, if they choose to. See? A pre-requisite degree to work and be successful as an agent does not exist. Though passing the real estate brokers exam in the Philippines would grant you more credibility, again, it’s not really required. Get accredited. Close deals. That’s how agents earn anyway.
3. Healthy income from commissions.
Here’s the sweetest part of being an agent---the commission. All hard work in the end, will be crowned with a gratifying check. Though closing deals may pose some challenges due to market conditions, you’ll find yourself victorious if you persevere enough. A 3% commission from selling a house worth more than 5 million is already equivalent to a 6-digit income, which is three or four times better than the average income of most corporate workers in the Philippines.
4. It’s listed the no.1 happiest job.
