Camella Valentine Feature: A Seller Love Story

February 13, 2019

They say love comes in the most unexpected place and unexpected time with the person whom you never thought would be your forever. There are relationships that start in friendship but lose the spark when the feeling is not mutual. But of course, there are also some that flourish into something deeper and meaningful. Timing set by serendipity is beyond doubt essential in finding our “The One” regardless of where we are and who we are as an individual. As we welcome the sweetest day of the year, we’ll be sharing with you a story of friendship and love that blossomed in our community.

Meet Amy, 44, and Arturo, 60, an inspirational pair who have been, for years now, helping other people find their dream homes in Camella, and later finding their “one home” in the process as well.

Amy Condido, a long-time seller of Camella Provence in Malolos, Bulacan, recounts the time she met her common-law husband, Arturo.

“I first knew Arturo way back in 2009, when our team was merged with his group of real estate brokers,” Amy said. “The first time I saw him, he was nonchalantly sleeping on a couch in the office with his mouth opened.”

Leaving that kind of impression, Amy never thought that this man who was casually enjoying his nap time would be the one who will fix her broken heart shattered from her previous ill-fated relationship.

“Before becoming a Camella seller, I used to be an OFW myself. I worked as an entertainer in Japan where I met my first boyfriend,” Amy continued. “We had a beautiful child together, but it didn’t turn out well for us. In the end, we went our separate ways.”

After ending her relationship with his first boyfriend, Amy then went back to the Philippines with her daughter and sought for a job to support her daughter’s needs. On the other hand, Arturo, was at  the time a widower with 3 children working as nurses in Dubai.

“Until we met each other, Arturo never entered any relationship when his wife died and just like me, he focused on being a good provider to his children,” she added.

The nature of their jobs as Camella sellers played an important role in their relationship. “Since we were both operating through the same group of sellers and brokers, we saw each other regularly. I think spending a lot of time together was key to nurturing our relationship, ” Amy shared dreamily.

As time progressed, the two started to be much comfortable with the company of each other. “We frequently went out with the team for lunch meetings, other social gatherings, and of course, one thing led to another until one day, we became the best of friends. Naging malapit na talaga kami sa isa’t-isa,” she added.

Amy was chuckling as she thought of the turning point in their relationship. “It was when he made the decision to follow me when I moved to Apalit, Pampanga from Parañaque City. Talagang sinundan niya ‘ko noon sa Apalit. That time I was struggling to make ends meet for my daughter and I.”

With his pure intentions reflected on his persistence during the most difficult times in Amy’s life, he was able to win her trust, and ultimately, her heart. In 2010, the love they had for one another grew much stronger, until such time came when they decided to take the next step in their relationship by living together under one roof.

In 2015, the couple fortified their relationship by investing into something big and long term. “Our story, in a way, started and flourished in Camella, specifically in Camella Provence, where we had most of our transactions as sellers. Matapos ang ilang taong pagtatrabaho namin bilang sellers, nabili rin namin ‘yung dream home namin sa Camella.

Despite some hurdles in the past, the wife and mother is still grateful for everything that transpired. ‘Kung hindi ako umuwi noon sa Pinas, siguro hindi ako magiging Camella seller, at siguro hindi ko rin makikilala si Arturo. It was a worthy gamble. Nagka-stable job na nga ako, nagka-asawa ulit at nagkabahay pa,” Amy jokingly said.

Currently, the beautiful couple resides at Camella Provence in Malolos, Bulacan with Amy’s daughter who is now 13 years old.
